Boston University is home to one of the country’s best public radio stations, WBUR.
College of Communication students interested in public radio or online journalism are encouraged to apply for the WBUR Fellowship. The WBUR Fellow will spend the spring semester at WBUR for 10-20 hours a week, earning 2 or 4 credits. The fellow will work with a specific show to learn more about public radio. During the summer, the fellow will then work on a creative project tapping mentors at WBUR and WBUR.org. The fellow also receives a $5,000 stipend.
Proposals for the WBUR Fellowship is due November 1. Interested students should write a one-page proposal about what they would like to do at WBUR and send to Prof. Anne Donohue (adonohue@bu.edu). Students can focus on show producing, newscasting, reporting, online, social media or some combination. Students can pick a topic for the Creative Project, but ideally it would have to appeal to a local Boston area WBUR audience.
